Thinkabit World of Work and Robocrafting Labs

The mission of the Qualcomm® Thinkabit Lab™ at Virginia Tech, National Capital Region, is to serve Washington, D.C. area students, teachers, administrators, parents, and collaborators in technical career exploration and the hands-on electronic and programming foundations of IOT and Smart Cities sensors, actuators, and data collection and analysis. In doing so, we are preparing our future STEM workforce and our increasingly diverse, technology-driven community for jobs that may not yet exist. VT-Thinkabit will work with like-minded teams, organizations and individuals interested in promoting curiosity, innovation, creativity, and students’ self-actualization and self-determination.

2017 MCBQ Education Symposium - March 23, 2017

This event is absolutely free and will feature a great professional development opportunity for all educators and counselors working with military families.
The 2017 MCBQ Education Symposium theme is “Fueling Your Life, Work, and Team with Energy” and will feature motivational speaker, Jim Van Allan.  Jim has been part of The Jon Gordon Companies since 2006 where he manages the book tours of the international successes, The Energy Bus, andThe No Complaining Rule

Jim is a Professor of ....
Communication Studies at Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Florida, and specializes in helping individuals and teams communicate efficiently and genuinely with each other.  In addition to teaching, Jim provides training workshops and keynote presentations to clients across the country.  Some of Jim’s sample clients include the YMCA, Tech Credit Union, El Paso School District, Western Michigan Employer’s Association, Pilots International, Carnival Cruise Line, and more. 

The event will be held at The Clubs at Quantico from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm onMarch 23rd, 2017.   Registration with a continental breakfast begins at 8:00 am.  Additional information and registration links will be sent to you during the month of January.

A lunch buffet will be available for purchase from the Clubs at Quantico for those who wish to network with other educators across the area following the event.
